James Eastburn Wallis papers [manuscript], 1819-1820, 1950.

Th collection contains a 100 page book of poems by Rev. J. W. Eastburn bound in small, cardboard covered volume. Pen and ink illustration of "Parish Church of St. George, Occomac, Virginia" inside front cover. There is also a letter, 1820 February 1, from Manton Eastburn to Mrs. John Howe detailing the last days in the life of James Wallis Eastburn. With these are manuscripts of Poems/hymns, a church bulletin, St. George's Episcopal Chuch in Pungoteague, Virginia, and a postcard picturing Saint George's Episcopal Church, built 1652, from Mrs. E. J. Ames to Mr. Wallis E. Howe referring to September 10th service at St. George's and mentioning raising money to preserve the church by selling postcards. There is also a newspaper clipping, no date. Poem entitled, "Lines on the Death of Rev. J. W. Eastburn."
